The Fireside has been a favorite of many Trailways Travelers, and we are happy to be returning for another memorable experience to see West Side Story. Besides the wonderful food served in their elegant dining rooms, it also offers a boutique shopping area for guests to explore before the show. We have included an earlier arrival time so that you will have plenty of time to peruse the boutique before dinner and the show.

 

Day 1: Thursday, April 3, 2025

Depart from the available location of your choice aboard a luxury Burlington Trailways motorcoach, where you’ll be welcomed by a friendly host and professional driver. Enjoy the comfort and relaxation of the journey as you head toward your destination, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Along the way, take a break for lunch, on your own, recharging for the exciting day ahead. Then, continue your journey to our overnight hotel, the Country Inn & Suites – Fort Atkinson. Have some time to relax and freshen up before departing for the Fireside Dinner Theatre, where you’ll experience a fantastic production of West Side Story.

 

Begin with some time built in for shopping the Fireside’s iconic boutique-style gift shops, 5 in total, before having dinner this evening before the show. The evening continues with a buffet dinner featuring their Signature Salad topped with Papaya Chutney Dressing and served with Freshly Baked Breads. On the Buffet, you will choose from these Fireside favorites: Barbecued Pork Back Ribs, Chicken Tenderloin Tempura with Brandied Apricot Sauce, Beer Batter Fried Cod, Shrimp and Scallops Fusilli with Tomato Butter Sauce, Fresh Atlantic Salmon, Beef Tenderloin and Roast Turkey from the Carving Station, Sweet Potato Soufflé, Whipped Idaho Potatoes and Steamed Farm Fresh Vegetables; plus, two more items that change with each show. Save room for dessert, Cherry Crisp, featuring warm tart Michigan cherries under an old-fashioned cinnamon oatmeal crumb crust topped with homemade vanilla frozen custard. Coffee, Tea, and Milk are included. Then it is time for the show as you move into the theatre to take your seat.

 

West Side Story is a modern retelling of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, set in 1950’s New York City and is a classic. It follows the love story of Tony and Maria, who belong to rival gangs – the Jets, a white American gang, and the Sharks, A Puerto Rican gang. As tensions between the gangs escalate, Tony and Maria’s forbidden love leads to tragic consequences. Featuring iconic songs like Tonight and America, this musical explores themes of love, prejudice, and the search for a better life. We return to our hotel for the remainder of the evening.

 

Day 2: Friday, April 4, 2025

Enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel this morning before departing to begin your journey back home. Today we are including lunch along with a Mystery Stop before making our way back home. Our Mystery Tours are always such a fun hit that we have decided to include an occasional Mystery Stop on some of our other tours so that you may experience the fun in the whole concept.

 

We then continue on our way back home with some fond memories and perhaps a few new friends you may have made along the way.

Deposit & Final Payment: A $150 deposit per person is required within one week of reservation. Must be paid in full by January 27, 2025.

No refunds will be issued after 5:00pm on January 27, 2025.

 

Activity Level 2: RELAXED

Expectations: This tour requires light physical activity combined with shorter travel days. Tour members should expect intermittent walking, with occasional slight inclines and stair climbs, including boarding the motorcoach. Activities may include an occasional city or nature walking tour, stopping along the way. Guests should be able to climb a set of stairs, walk up or down slight slopes and navigate some uneven terrain or cobblestone. Please be aware that on tours with flights and cruises you will be required to handle your own luggage and walk longer distances in airports and cruise terminals. In addition, you may need to handle your own luggage at hotels where luggage handling is not available.

Appropriate for: Travelers who are somewhat physically fit and comfortable with longer days of touring (both walking tours and coach time).
