Day 2

Day 2: Tuesday, October 5, 2021
Enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel before departing for Rise ‘n Roll Bakery this morning. We just cannot be in Amish country without making a quick stop for a true Amish bakery fix! Pick something up to go or enjoy them on the spot. Rise’n Roll is most known for their “Cinnamon Caramel Donut” which is absolutely delicious.
After a lunch break, on your own, en route to Cleveland, Ohio, we arrive at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this afternoon. With the doors opening on September 2, 1995 with a blockbuster benefit concert nearby, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has welcomed millions of visitors since. With an ever-changing rotation of exhibits, a repeat visitor will always be certain to be able to see something new! But some things always remain on exhibit such as Michael Jackson’s white glove. Come explore for yourself and enjoy all that Rock & Roll has to offer…you’ll soon see why they say “Cleveland Rocks!”
This evening arrive at the Drury Inn & Suites Cleveland Beachwood in Shaker Heights and take part in the Kickback Reception or enjoy dinner, on your own, at a nearby restaurant.

Day 3

Day 3: Wednesday, October 6, 2021
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before departing for Niagara Falls, New York. After lunch, on your own, arrive at Niagara Falls State Park – Observation Tower and take a ride on The Maid of the Mist. It’s the best way to experience the splendor of Niagara Falls, but be prepared to get wet as the Maid of the Mist practically dunks you under the falls! A light rain poncho is provided to you, however, keep in mind what you wear for shoes!
Arrive at the hotel this evening with time to refresh and enjoy dinner, on your own. Return back for a nighttime view of the Falls all lit at night for those who wish.

Day 4

Day 4: Thursday, October 7, 2021
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel this morning before setting out for Aurora, New York. Our first stop this morning will be at Vidlers 5 & 10. Wall Street crashed in October of 1929 and all economies plunged, then Robert Vidler opened his “Fair 5 cent to $1 Store” on June 21, 1930 at the start of what would become known as the Great Depression.
Today, with over 75,000 items spread through 4 buildings on 2 levels, this is a shopping experience you won’t find online! Historic, nostalgic and just plain fun, you can spend hours here and still not see everything in this 5 & 10 cent store!
Next on our adventure today is the JELL-O Gallery Museum in LeRoy, New York. Visit the place where JELL-O was born and went on to become “America’s Most Famous Dessert!” In 1897, a LeRoy carpenter expanded on the gelatin dessert patented some 50 years earlier. He didn’t have the business acumen to market his fruity product though, so he sold the rights to a local salesman for a mere $450. He named it JELL-O. Then it came in four flavors: orange, lemon, strawberry and raspberry. It had been a LeRoy favorite, but after successful advertising campaigns in ladies’ journals and on the radio, it became an international sensation, taking the world by storm with its fruity goodness.
Arrive at Lake Seneca to enjoy a one-hour narrated cruise on one of the largest of the 11 Finger Lakes. Take in the sights of the wineries, mansions and quaint towns with pastoral vistas as you relax.
Check into Country Inn & Suites in Ithaca, New York for a two-night stay and take some time to freshen up before departing for dinner this evening.
At Za Za’s Cucina you’ll enjoy the complete dining experiencing of excellent food, attentive service and the option of fine wines in an elegantly designed space. The chef, Curtis Radcliffe, has led several kitchens in the Finger Lakes region including a Fortune 500 Company. He brings passion and utilizes the best local and regional products as well as exceptional imported ingredients to craft the most perfect dishes for every guest.
The remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy, on your own.

Day 5

Day 5: Friday, October 8, 2021
After breakfast at the hotel this morning we meet our local guide and depart for Willard Chapel in Auburn, New York. The Willard Chapel is an extremely rare example of the work of Louis C. Tiffany and Tiffany Glass and Decoration Company. Built in 1892-1894, the interior of the Chapel was designed and handcrafted entirely by Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company of New York City and is the only complete and unaltered Tiffany designed religion interior known to exist in the world. Enjoy a private organ recital while visiting.
Next, visit the Harriet Tubman Home. This amazing trailblazer, innovator and famous abolitionist has an amazing story and the tour here truly colorfully illuminates what a true American treasure she was.
We arrive in Seneca Falls for the It’s a Wonderful Life Museum & Women’s Hall of Fame. This is the town that inspired Frank Capra to create Bedford Falls, from It’s a Wonderful Life. Have time to stroll the village before enjoying the museum. 2021 is the 75th anniversary of this much-loved movie – explore the museum filled with movie memorabilia located in what was the first movie theater in town, built in 1913.
Explore the Women’s Hall of Fame, celebrating incredible and pioneering women and location of the 1848 women’s rights convention.
The Finger Lakes in New York’s wine region and New York State is the second largest grape grower in the US, only behind California. With that in mind, it is time for Wine! Enjoy a wine tasting and tour before arriving back at the hotel with some time to refresh for dinner this evening.
Depart for dinner, on your own, at the Ithaca Commons. Ithaca, New York has more restaurants per capita than New York City and continues to attract diners across the globe. In fact, Ithaca was recognized by Bon Appetit magazines as one of the “foodiest” towns in America.
Ithaca is known for its farm-to-table and fine-dining restaurants, serving fresh and healthy American and ethnic cuisine, which appeal to residents and visitors alike. Return to the hotel for the remainder of the evening.

Day 6

Day 6: Saturday, October 9, 2021
After having breakfast this morning, depart for Burlington, Vermont. Located in northern Vermont along Lake Champlain, it is a very quaint “only in Vermont” kind of town. Enjoy rest and refresh breaks along the way today, as needed, as well as a stop for lunch, on your own.
Arrive at the Hilton Garden Inn on Main Street in Burlington to enjoy a two-night stay in this new hotel built from the historic Armory building located ideally downtown in the Church Street Market Section.
Depart with a local guide this afternoon for a brief overview of Burlington with a stop at Lake Champlain Chocolates for a tour…and of course a taste or two!
Return to the hotel to freshen up and then gather in the lobby to walk to dinner at a nearby restaurant. After dinner, the remainder of the evening will be yours to spend, as you wish, on your own.

Day 7

Day 7: Sunday, October 10, 2021

As you travel east from Burlington, the Green Mountains rise and soon you find yourself traveling on the beautiful and very colorful Green Mountain Byway!
Today will highlight the gorgeous foliage and you will visit at least one of the Covered Bridges that this region is so well known for. Enjoy a Gondola SkyRide at Stowe Mountain – see Vermont’s greatest views the easy way in the famous, and completely refurbished, Stowe Gondola SkyRide to the top of Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest mountain!
This afternoon takes us to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream in the Waterbury Village Historic District. A Vermont original – quirky, fun AND delicious! Visit their first factory, built in 1985, and enjoy the tour with time for a tasting as well as creating your very own signature flavor!
Arrive at Morse Maple Sugarworks, this family-run farm offers 200 years of maple experience. The Morse family’s eight-generation maple experience is shown via live presentations in the farm’s Sugarhouse. Sample Vermont maple syrup, jams, jellies and more.
An outdoor museum includes an antique replica of the Vermont State House. A gentle maple trail leads right to the trees where it all begins. You will delight in Burr Morse’s soft sculpture and tree elves. Plus, everyone will get a demonstration and tasting of Vermont Sugar on Snow and a maple creemee!
Return to the hotel for the rest of the evening, on your own. You are a very short walk to a variety of cafes and restaurants for dinner this evening, if you choose.

Day 8

Day 8: Monday, October 11, 2021
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory this morning. Get an up-close experience with this fun, clever and educational tour learning how Bears are put together, all by hand, from start to finish as you see the creative process in action. End in the bear hospital where you can meet Dr. Nancy and check on the patients that have been sent in for some of her great care. You might even find yourself going home with a new cuddly, furry friend!
Then, head for Bennington to meet your local guide who will assist everyone with some lunch suggestions, on your own, before taking us on a tour through Bennington. Make a picturesque stop at one of the many covered bridges before moving on to the Old First Congregational Church. The Old First Church was gathered in 1762, the first Protestant church in Vermont. Much of the early history of Bennington and of Vermont took place in and around the original Meeting House, built in 1763, and the present church, built in 1805 and dedicated January 1, 1806. As a result, the Vermont Legislature, in 1935, designated the church as “Vermont’s Colonial Shrine.” Stop and explore the cemetery adjacent to the church. It was given the title “Vermont’s Sacred Acre” by the Vermont Legislature and is crowded with gravestones from the past 200+ years, including that of the poet, Robert Frost.
We travel on to the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts and Great Barrington. Sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery as it passes by.
Arrive at the Holiday Inn Express in Great Barrington and check in. Take a bit of time to freshen up for a very special dinner treat in beautiful Stockbridge this evening – the quintessential New England village!
Arrive at the Red Lion Inn on Main Street in Stockbridge and enjoy dinner at this iconic landmark, whose warmth and character express timeless tradition, while its vibrant personality brings the best of the Berkshires to life. For more than a hundred years, the Inn has been famous for its collection of colonial antiques. However, you may recognize it from one of Norman Rockwell’s paintings, “Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas.” Take time to explore and perhaps sit out on the beautiful front porch to take in this quaint village’s Main Street.

Day 9

Day 9: Tuesday, October 12, 2021
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing with a local guide for today’s touring. First up is the Norman Rockwell Museum. Norman used many locals as his subjects for his original covers for the Saturday Evening Post and every single one of these covers are located in the museum housing the world’s largest and most significant collection of Rockwell’s work, including 998 original paintings and drawings. Rockwell lived in Stockbridge for the last 25 years of his life. Rockwell’s Stockbridge studio, moved to the Museum site, features original art materials, his library, furnishings and personal items. The Museum also houses the Norman Rockwell Archives, a collection of more than 100,000 items, including photographs, letters, personal calendars, fan mail, and business documents.
Enjoy more Berkshire icons this afternoon as we continue on with our tour guide. We return back to the hotel for a quick break late this afternoon to regroup and refresh before heading back out.
Depart for the Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield. This village brings the Shaker story to life and preserves it for future generations. The Shakers are one of the most intriguing religious movements in American history, and considered among the most successful utopian societies ever to have flourished in this country. A religious order whose members believe in pacifism, celibacy, and communal living, Shaker religious expression took the form of singing and ecstatic dance, which is why they were called the “Shaking Quakers,” or “Shakers.”
Begin with a guided walking tour to key sites in the Village and learn about important themes of daily Shaker life and practice. Enjoy a cocktail under the Timber Frame with its unparalleled view of the Round Stone Barn, followed by a bountiful four-course shaker-inspired dinner, served family-style, in the modern comfort of Community Hall. Dinner begins with the singing of a Shaker grace and closes with music that illuminates Shaker beliefs and spirituality. Return to the hotel for the remainder of the evening, on your own.

Day 10

From original works of art to everyday items for the home, the Shops’ selection of over 15,000 items includes jewelry, accessories, holiday ornaments and collectibles in every price range.

The museum features original memorabilia, costumes, props, Emmy Awards, replica “I Love Lucy” studio sets and more! Enjoy a delicious lunch inside the fully re-created Tropicana Room while one of your many favorite Lucy episodes play!
We travel to Sandusky, Ohio today where we’ll overnight at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Check in for our overnight stay and freshen up for a unique dining experience – a Jailhouse Rock Dinner!
Dinner tonight is at the jailhouse – literally! We begin by getting booked and having our mug shot taken and then enjoy our catered meal in the cell block area with live musical entertainment playing the classics from Johnny Cash, Elvis and more!
We end the evening with a tour of this historical jail and the 1840’s era dungeon that is one of only a few left open for tours in the United States.
