Join us this morning from the available departure location of your choice and meet your friendly onboard host and driver. We will make rest and refresh breaks as needed, along with a stop for lunch on your own before we arrive in Dry Ridge, Kentucky for a two-night stay at the Comfort Suites. Settle in and freshen up before we have an included dinner at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store before returning to the hotel this evening.
Have breakfast at the hotel this morning before departing out for a full day. We begin with a stop at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Kentucky. Designed after Notre Dame in Paris, this structure houses one of the largest stained-glass windows in the world. It also houses two pipe organs; in the south transept gallery stands the pipe organ designed and built specifically for the cathedral by Hendy Willis III during his tenure at the Wicks Organ Company of Highland, Illinois in 1933. The west gallery contains the historic Matthias Schwab tracker organ built in 1859 and moved to the cathedral in 1970. Be sure to check out the mosaic Stations of the Cross made from 80,000 tiles from Italy. You will most likely agree that it is one of the most beautiful works of religious architecture.
Then it is off to the Creation Museum. The history of the Bible vividly comes to life and on your walk-through biblical history, you’ll encounter the realistic Garden of Eden, animatronic Noah, Flood dioramas, stunning video displays and much more. Prepare to believe!
Explore the Garden of Eden alongside Adam and Eve. You’ll see Adam naming the animals. The creation of Eve, the tree of life, and the serpent cunningly coiled in the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.
A visit at the Creation Museum isn’t complete without catching a show at the Stargazer Planetarium. Sit back and be amazed as the planetarium projects vividly realistic images upon a 30-foot diameter dome, allowing stargazers to travel anywhere in the universe. Lunch will be included at Noah’s Café today at your leisure.
We return back to our hotel with some time to freshen up before departing for an included dinner this evening complete with entertainment.
Fill up on breakfast this morning before we check out of our hotel and make our way to the Ark Encounter. Built according to the dimensions given in the Bible it spans 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. This modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. Their commitment to historical accuracy and artistic excellence continues inside. The three full decks of beautifully crafted teaching exhibits that inspire you to think about the biblical account of Noah’s Ark. Noah’s Ark is the largest timber frame structure in the world, built from standing dead timber, in part by skilled Amish craftsman and is considered an architectural and engineering wonder. Be sure to wander the grounds outdoors and visit the zoo. Feeling adventurous? How about checking out the Ziplining and occasionally they have camel rides available too (both at an additional fee). Enjoy an included lunch buffet in Emzara’s Kitchen at your leisure today.
We depart the Ark and begin a bit of our journey back home. Tonight we stay at the Best Western Plus in Harrison, Ohio. Dinner this evening is on your own at Bob Evans, and optional, as we realize you had an extremely large lunch.
Have breakfast before we depart the hotel this morning, but don’t fill up too much – we have a wonderful stop on the way home with a great lunch, complete with pie! A favorite stop of many we have included Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch! Take a quick tour and learn all about the reindeer, and realize that they really do fly, on an airplane that is from Alaska! After receiving the original group of Reindeer, Mark and Julie Hardy started raising them on their farm in Illinois. But, you will soon realize that they are truly magical and you’ll also be given a treat to feed them so that you can receive a “reindeer kiss” if you wish!
Head on into the barn that once you step inside resembles an old-time western saloon. Here you will be treated to a fantastic lunch complete with some great entertainment. We promise, this will be a place you soon will not forget! We return back home with some wonderful memories and experiences from the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter and the fun at Hardy’s!
